The question we get asked most often in all of our other classes is how to craft the perfect buttercream every time and how to troubleshoot when it all goes wrong! Having the perfect buttercream is absolutely essential when trying to pipe and craft beautiful cupcakes. We give you the foundations for making buttercream, adding colours & flavours to your buttercream, and how to use simple techniques to take your buttercream to the next level. These are skills that will equip you for life-long buttercream happiness!

Class includes:

  • Making our famous CCC pure buttercream - a fully hands-on opportunity to work with the finest ingredients and create buttercream from scratch
  • Transforming buttercream into White Chocolate buttercream
  • Adding colouring & flavouring
  • Assembling piping bags and nozzles
  • Prepping luster dusts to use with buttercream
  • Practice piping decorations on piping pins
  • Practice piping messages on parchment
  • Decorate 2 cupcakes using the carefully prepared buttercream

Buttercream 101 Kits are available for purchase prior to the class via our website and some kits may be available on the day however quantities are limited.

Each kit includes:

- 1 metal nozzle tip

- 500ml of buttercream

- 8 disposable piping bags

- 2 bags of sprinkles

- 2 gel colours

- 1 glitter lustre dust.

    Class Size: up to 18 students
    Skill Level: Basic
    Age: 16 yrs+ (or 12 yrs+ with a paying accompanying adult)

    Course Location
    This class takes place at The Classic Cupcake Co. Baking Academy (Shop 1 / 142 Spit Road, Mosman, NSW 2088).

    Residential street parking is available all around our venue. There is also a small private car park right behind the building and a public car park on Stanton Road (off Northbound Spit Road). If you are travelling by public transport, catch the 144 bus to/from Chatswood, or the 172 & 173 to/from Wynyard.

    Equipment
    The class price includes all materials, recipe handouts, all sugarcraft tools, equipment and of course, your box of cupcakes to take home.

    Kitchen Attire & Code of Conduct
    You are required to wear solid, comfortable shoes with closed toes and no high heels. We advise not wearing warm and bulky clothing as you may get hot during the class. The class is performed standing up, but stools are available for anyone who needs one. An apron will be provided.
